Hello, as the title really.

What have you got your riding instructors/yard owners for xmas?

I wanted to get my instructor something good as she was getting up at ridiculous time in the morning so we could have a lesson before I went to work and I start at 7am..! Rather do something else than the ususal bottles of wine. I need some inspiration. She doesn't have a horse anymore and doesn't work with horses full time so didn't want to get something too horsey-related.

All ideas welcome, I'm stuck and hate buying rubbish gifts!

I never expect presents from my clients, but am thrilled when they give me something. The ones that stand out in my mind are those that I still use ever day - thermal socks, a lovely thermos for my tea whilst teaching, ear warmers, lovely gloves. All really thoughtful and very useful!

I'm not sure what you do, I'm stuck for ideas as our Yo has ridiculously large hands is 6"7 with huge feet so socks and gloves not a safe bet. We pay him in wine and cheese when he looks after the horse if we are in France so wine is nothing special. Last year he got a bit upset that the dog got more presents than him

I've never gotten anything for yard managers really but they've never been proactive on the yard.
It's just my instructor as she puts up with my crap and whining all year.

Good idea is what I did one year...... hung a stocking outside all the horses doors as I'm the first one there with a carrot/apple/chocs and low cost stuff like hoof picks in it. you could maybe do that for your yard managers horse!
