Riding Instructors

My horses are near Pondersbridge, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good but sympathetic riding instructors. I was looking initially at someone to help me overcome my sudden fear of jumping, but actually on reflection think I need to learn to ride "properly" (I seem to have a few bad habits lol)

I would get myself to a 2 day course at www.ashenec.co.uk. She is brilliant at rider biomechanics and making your seat as secure and effective as possible. With that information you will then have a wider choice of riding instructor.

If you can't get a horse there, then try for a session on her mechanical horse, depending where you are starting from even a couple of session will have a lifelong impact!

Becky is in Suffolk, but does tend to get very booked up. I find very few instructors who can really teach good biomechanics and it is a whole lot cheaper, in time and money, in the long run to invest to get the basics right.

Canteron - I was thinking that was what my eldest son needs, he has started riding again after a 10 year break, he is now 18, and he has to ride my horse as he is the only one big enough. He finds it hard to do rising trot and maintain a stable seat after all this time off. Trouble is, I don't know of a riding school with a horse suitable for a 6'4" teenager, so I thought the mechanical horse might be the way to go.

I'd second going to ashen with Becky, have had a mechanical horse lesson and want to go back (injured so currently can't), very clear and effective teacher.
