Riding kit for tots

My youngest is pony mad, and will be starting to ride after xmas. She is also VERY girly, won't wear anything but pink (

)

So, for xmas I was thinking on buying her a hat, jodhs and boots. I have seen cutie pink chipmunk boots, but am at a loss as to what hat to buy. Obviously, I don't want to pay loads for one, but safety is the most important thing, as is the fact it needs to be light as she's only 2. And a silk to go on it, does anywhere make tiny silks??

Any recommendations?

If youy can find a hat to fit her you'll probably find that it will come with a silk.
This place supplies all xc colours, I don't know if they will specifically make a smaller size but you could contact them. failing that buy a normal one & put a few stitch tacks in it to make it fit. After all it's just supplying colour, not safety. Good Luck in your search.

I havent seen any jockey skulls that come with a silk except the charles owen one.

When you buy a hat it often comes with a black silk. Just buy a differnet coloured silk from your local tack shop or ebay. They are not expensive. You will find that the external size of the hat is not much different to an adult one, and the silks you are talking about are stretchy anyway.

And what about light jockey skulls that come in weeny sizes? Should I look out for a certain make?

Toby has a Charles Owen one which is very light and pretty cheap! Comes in a pretty funky box asl well.

The kids range from Charles Owen proves very popular and are quite light for little heads. If you shop around you can get little kids jods quite reasonably.

My daughter is 5 and has a size 000 Charles Owen skull cap, with pads in it to make it fit. She got a purple silk for it and a standard silk fits it fine (its a lycra one)
