Tempted to ride my cob tomorrow, the snow is pretty slushy here and tempreture has gone to about 7 degrees, however the snow is still on the ground although there is no ice. She has fronts on and is barefoot at the back, so is it just a case of applying petroleum jelly (Vaseline) underneath on and around her frogs to stop the snow balling up?! planning on taking her across some fields and up a quiet bridleway, no roads to worry about. Will only be plodding about and maybe a small stretch of trot.
In the past i haven't bothered riding in the snow as there was a fair bit of roadwork, however there's lots of off road hacking here so would like to take the opportunity :)
Has/does anyone else ride in the snow?!

I ride as long as I am familiar with the terrain (familiar tracks only) and it's not too slippy. I've always ridden in the snow my whole life ... obviously I don't go at full speed, but gentle hacks in the snow are wonderful
