Having hopelessly searched the web I can't find any information about where it is permitted to ride on the beach. I am in West Sussex and want to take the horses this weekend for a splash. This will be there first time so a quite beach is preferred. Does anyone know anything or can point me in the right direction?

We used to take our ponios down to Ferring beach, usually very quiet, and you can park horseboxes on the sea road just alongside the beach. You take the junction off the A27 west of Worthing signed for Patching/Ferring, (A280) follow signs to Ferring off the roundabout, (Tilnore Lane), just follow that lane all the way down to the seafront, where you turn right on to Marine Drive ..... and there you are! The kids had many a fun day jumping breakwaters, but DON'T do this until you have investigated the other side

- my daughter very nearly had a nasty fall as she hadn't realised that there was a very big drop on the other side of the breakwater! (I'm sure that you would be much wiser than she was!!)

Thats where I am!!!
Inbthe winter you can go on Ferring beach whenever you like but in the summer you have to go either beofre 10 am or after 6 pm. Hope this helps Ferring is a lovely beach!
