With the horse's work load being decreased as she edges ever closer to retirement :( I really want to find somewhere to work on my own riding/position etc so I'm ready to hit the ground running when I can afford something else of my own. When I'm home I go to Sharon Newbury in Yelling and would like to find somewhere similar in the Staffordshire area (preferably close to Stoke-on-Trent). I'd prefer to be able to go semi-regularly so somewhere not extortionate would be great :)
Thanks :)

And for your time, a picture of the pretty lady enjoying her semi-retired state <3

Is Stafford too far? Rob Lovat at Ingestre is excellent. My daughter had a few lessons with him when she was between horses and really enjoyed them. I seem to remember it was about £60 per lesson on one of their schoolmasters.

Hi, thanks for that. :)
It would be OK for a one off but a bit far for a regular lesson and would probably stretch my bank balance a little :o Will keep him in mind for the odd one off though. Thanks :)

How regularly would you want to go? I'd rather a lesson with Rob or Tim every now and then (well worth the money) than more often with anyone else (apart from one who is in Sussex :))

Well this seems rather unanimous! I was hoping to have lessons every other week, but maybe I'll just try and have one at Ingestre every month or so. :)

I doubt you would find decent schoolmaster lessons for under £60 anywhere, Ingestre sounds great so I'd say would be a good investment!

I paid £25 at yelling ;) Granted Sharon isn't a 'name', but the horses were sound, able and a lot of them ex-high level comp horses. In reality, they don't need to be schoolmaster lessons in the sense that the horse is trained to XYZ level and can do ABC. That would be nice, but in reality I just want somewhere with good quality instructors, sound and willing horses and an environment in which I can learn :) Hope that bunch of waffle makes sense! lol

Ok, due to the overwhelming responses on here have e-mailed to see what the protocol is for lessons with either Rob or Tim (if I'm driving that far, may as well have the best ;) ) so will keep you posted!

If anyone does have ideas of places to go for more regular lesson I would still be interested to hear those too :)

Cheers :)

Just to say, I had a great lesson with Mark at Ingestre today riding a *very* bouncy ex 3*** and PSG horse called Jim :D Really worked on activating my core and making sure my weight was where it was supposed to be at all times; hard work!
