Hiya.

I am currently on the search for a new riding school, as my previous instructor has just emmigrated.

I am an experienced rider and have done my BHS stage 1&2, and was working towards my 3 before she left.
I am wanting private lessons, or perhaps semi-private if I am matched with someone suitable.

So can people please give me any recommendations for places they have tried, and any bad experiences of places to?

Thank youu

Hiya I used to ride here a great many moons ago and liked the place. It had a revamp a couple of years ago and although I have not been there for a long time now I have heard some good reports from other people. http://www.whitmoreridingschool.com/
I do know of other places but they are mainly children's riding and I am assuming you are an adult and as I know for certain that Whitmore does offer lessons to adults then I would recommend them. The hacking around there is fantastic as I have been around Hanchurch woods in the past and it is a nice place. Good luck

As a capable rider you might want to look at Butterlands on Biddulph Moor. They have a decent selection of horses for adults (usually 8-10 16hh+). A lot of them are hunters and he even had his schoolmaster eventer in the lessons when I was there last time (she was a 2* or 3* horse at one point). The group lessons tend to be jump focused and the level of the lessons is generally very high for a RS.

Thanks everyone :)
Kat, have you been to horsepower equestrian yourself? I am thinking of trying them.
Do you know what their standard of horses and teaching is like?
Thanks :)
