Riding Schools in cornwall .....

I'm looking at having lessons again as i can only hack out with my share horse, and feel i would benefit from them a couple of times a month. Can anyone recommend a riding school? and also how much they charge for private lessons (half hour and hour).

I used to ride at Wheal Buller, but left because i didn't feel i was progessing anymore. So i am now looking for another place to ride, but need you help finding somewhere!!!!!

Hmm I rode at Wheal Buller for just over 3 years and progressed so well. I think it depends which instructor you have up there as to how well you do. I did a lot of schooling up there, learnt lots of lateral work (when I left we were just getting to grips with half pass), rode in a double bridle (I damaged the ligament in my ankle and couldn't jump for 4 months, so instructor thought of new things to do in flat lessons), learnt how to assess a horse on the flat and how to improve it, did dressage comps, sponsored rides, cross country lessons, jumping improved massively too. Rode a variety of horses from a 13hh Exmore to an 18:2hh Shire x TB ex eventer, horses that were in for schooling and to be sold on, veterans, 4 year olds, such a mix of horses.

I went up in January and it was £33 for a private hour lesson... when I left there in Sept 08 it was £27 so quite a price increase.
 
I rode at Wheal Buller for just over 9 years and we did the same thing ALL the time, but it sounds like it has improved loads in the 5 years since i've not been there. May go back and see how i get on!

WB is aimed more at holiday makers rather than riding lessons to more advanced levels. have you looked into Chiverton Riding School or maybe Newton Livery or Old Mill are very good too.
 
I forgot about Newton Livery! Not far from me at all. Booked in for a lesson there so will see how it is there. Have heard ALOT of good things about it there
