Riding Schools in Ormskirk and surrounding area.

Hi,

I'm currently studying at Edge Hill University. I've been riding since I was 12. However since moving to University I haven't had the chance to ride. Can anyone recommend any? Thanks
 
There's Halsall Riding school in, well, Halsall, and also Longacres in Lydiate - all within around a 20 min drive from Ormskirk. I don't ride at either of these places so can't tell you what the teaching/facilities are like! There are a few places around the Lancashire/Merseyside area - I'd google it if you're stuck :-)
 
I rode and worked at Longacres for years but that was a while ago so I can't say how good it is now. Might be worth looking over the other side of Ormskirk towards Rufford etc - if there aren't riding schools there are definitely livery yards so you might find a share opportunity :)
 
There's one in Parbold which you can get to easily on the train from Ormskirk. Other than that second long acres and Halsall although haven't personally ridden at any!

There are loads of shares round that area - have a look on merseyhorse or preloved. Eccles /parbold /longacres are all pretty close.
 
Sirreal - Cross country fences between some of the turn out fields, yup. I have fond memories of zooming over a massive hedge from the Long to Upper Big fields on Toby (who I just discovered is still going strong!)
