Posted a while ago about kids pony having a serious panic attack over a alpaca and subsequent loss of confidence...thanks for all the advice it was all very useful. Making progress again and have bought some really good training books..most techniques we kinda already do but it is always good to get decent advice that makes sense!
One problem that we have had intermittently is the wriggly snake pony impression which i can only describe as the most ridiculuously frustrating problem to tackle. Basically said pony (14.1 haflinger) will suddenly decide that going forwards in a straight line is sooo boring and starts walking sideways with his bum and head pointing in one direction but his legs going in the opposite direction and evades all control. He isnt overly schooled and we never do anything for long as he does it more when he starts to get bored (he has the attention span of a gnat) He seems to do it as a way of getting out of working but somedays he does it all the time and it just turns into a massive battle which is no fun for anyone. We do vary what we do with him alot but the kids are not to keen on hacking out at the mo so would really appreciate some help.
