This might get a little boring but my god, no one go riding with your non horsey boyfriend/girlfriend because it's just not worth the stress
My OH is into walking/hiking but absolutly hates horses, he's terrified of them. So today, he went for a walk and I said i'd catch him up on the horse and we'd walk back together to the yard.
So he got about 45 minutes headstart and I had just set off when I got a phonecall - he's not been able to complete the walk because there are loads of cows in the last field and he's too scared and can't walk through them.
When I finally caught him up, I tried to position my ponio so we were walking side by side, but everytime we got lined up OH moved away, after a couple of minutes like this he snapped and shouted "HE'S FOLLOWING ME! FOR GODS SAKE" and actually looked genuinely unsettled
So we continue dwalking for a little while, getting edgy looks the whole time. Suddenly he goes, "whats that on his leg?" so i start thinking oh god. We stopped, and I started leaning trying to see the inside of his leg whilst mounted.
"it looks like a...oh god, it's all crusty, it looks like a gash...what is it?!" I still couldn't see anything and was a bit worried by the fuss he was making so I dismounted, and started examining his legs and couldn't see anything. OH points to his chesnut. *sigh*
So I asked him to stand by ponies head so he doesn't try to move forward while I get back on. Now, ok it doesn't help that my pony is a bit nippy anyway but as soon as he breathed in and looked in his general direection, OH jumped away leaving me scrambling on for dear life, and I accidentally kicked him in the arm
And finally, when we got back to the yard, I took off his numnah to wash when I got back home. He said "what are you washing that for? you don't need to wash stuff like that do you?" I showed him the underneath and it's all hairy and sweaty and he said "for gods sake, shouldn't you have done that sooner?"
Gah! The end.
PS But we did get a couple of rather nice pictures
