Rig - Full abdominal exploratory surgery

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone would like to share their experience if they have had a horse go through full abdominal exploratory surgery for retained testicular tissue?

What was the recovery like?

All experiences welcome ?

We had one at the yard I worked at. One normal testicle but other required surgery to find it. H e recovered ok but some time later had a bad colic attack which turned out to be adhesions from the op. He did recover but had minor bouts of colic for the rest of his life. Mum's poodle had two retained testicles removed and also had adhesions. In his case that was within a day or so of the op and he had to be put down. Both of these were back in 60's/70's. Vet medicine has come on a long way since then.
