Views on gelding

bit and herded my mare who was in season into submission by pinning her against the fence. Mounted her did the full Monty dripping fluid after wards
Is aggressive towards her re food ripped her rugs and taken chunks of fur off through the rug
Flew at her yesterday ears flat back and kicked out when hay put in Feeder
Tried to bring my other mare into season by sniffing her back end and biting her around that area and her neck
Gets stressy when left on his own paces and tried to jump out of the field
Ripped my little mares rug rammed her against the wall causing her to cut her legs leaving her covered in bites

owner thinks it’s funny and said he has never done this before and wont get him tested. Says my mares are as bad but they don’t have bite marks

when our out with a gelding did the same and when strip grazzed just knocked the electric fence posts down

anyone had a similar experience they will not strip graze. The pony isn’t Over weight but has access to 4 acres of reasonable grazing in summer but eats this off very quickly leaving little grazing. For two horses this is ample grazing in my opinion

How can the owner think it's funny?! I'm presuming she wouldn't be open to getting him tested or putting him onto a supplement (Rig Calm is good but might not be strong enough for this gelding).

Is there a yard owner or manager you can speak to? I wouldn't be happy with him being out with my horses and the owner needs to cooperate.

Can the electric fence where he is strip grazing be connected to the mains or a stronger battery?

I thought you were talking about a right horse of your own with your mare to begin with.

one of you needs to move.

Sorry it was out with my young gelding but the rig gelding bullied him by being aggressive. The owner doesn’t seem to think it’s a problem and wanted to change fields to put him with a mare that will stand for anything. I think it needs to be on its own or with another that will put it in its place
Ridden and handling wise it’s a fab horse

well the owner needs set straight. I’d be telling them you’ll be sending them vet bills.
Do you have a YO/YM that can step in and mediate moving around?

A situation like this could end catastrophically. Someone I knew had a stallion running with a bunch of mares, one of the mare with foal at foot got kicked and her hind leg shattered. Don't under estimate the damage this horse could do to yours.

I had a rig that knocked down and nearly killed an elderly mare in his field. It took three people with whips to get him off her. I didn't know he was a rig till then, after a vet check. He lived on his own from that day on. Rigs can be VERY dangerous!

I watched some SPCA thing on the telly at the weekend, and it was a load of stallions fighting in a field with a field of mares within seeing distance. The one stallion pulverised the other one kicking him, causing him to bleed out and someone saw it happen where it kept bearing down on the other one, when it was lying on the ground it kept pushing down on it with its body weight to kill it.

Not nice. Same scenario if you have a riggy horse.

I assume you are on a yard. If so, you YM or YO should be told. It does not sound as though this horse is safe to be in a field with any others despite what the owner wants. Insist that it is not out with your horses.
