I am sooooo bored of poo picking. So Im either going to stick corks up my horses a*ses or invest in a poo sucker-upper. I have 3 horses who live out 24/7. Their field is on a hill, which is very steep in places. Will prob get a cheap quad to tow the Hoover.
Where's the best place to look for them? Anything to avoid? :-D
Thank u muchly!

Predator for us!

Easy to use, great as it chops up the poo so makes it quicker to break down, very powerful and even thought about the bunnies!! eek waiting to be told cruel! As with all the hoovers can clog with wet poo!

However on a serious note if you hill is that steep are you really serious about towing something?

I would go for it - tbh in anything but the hottest parts of the UK the temp rarely gets hot enough for the spreading of muck via harrowing to be an effective worm killer.

But make sure whatever is towing it is stable and the ground isnt too steep. Mule type is better than quad type - I use an ancient Polaris 6 wheeled one which is very stable.

TBH tho, by the time you have got all the toys out you could be there and back with your bucket and gloves. and a lot of peeps get poo vacuums and then sell them cos some are not that good.

I have the Trafalgar vacuum one and have been really pleased with it. I wouldn't consider going back to poo picking again as I used to find it took up all my riding time. The engine on it is really good, I have had mine for 3 years with no maintenance and had no problems. I leave mine hooked up to quad so really quick to whizz round field. You can also use it for vacuuming dust etc from feed room and stables and tidying up the yard.

I bought mine during the winter when I think you get better deals or you could look for a second hand one. Loads of people told me not to bother, too much hassle etc. so I just arranged a demo and after 2 minutes was sold! It picks up all the poo, so no mess at all left on grass and is so much easier if you have any longer grass areas to clear. The one I have holds about 3 wheelbarrows full before it needs emptying.

Thanks everybody! :-) We've got just under 6 acres. It's only really steep in one part, but we don't use that bit anyway cos it's full of rabbit warrens :-\ The rest is just slopey.
The grazing is quite rough & old, which makes poo picking a faff. And now it's getting dark early, it's going to become impossible to do. I finish work at 3, so don't get there til 3:45 :-(
Plus, quads are awesome & i want an excuse to get one! :-D
Thanks again.
*tootles off to start googling*
