I brought my bay TB x 2 year old gelding for £1200 out of the bargain pages he was a right deal his value has already doubled within a year.

I have now also brought appaloosa foal for a £1000 which is a right bargain!

50 pound white welshy, had a note on his stable door "Free to good home" but my conscience forced me to actually pay for him. Typical opionated welshy, better on the lead rein than off. Total star. As always, if only he was 14.2h. Shame Evie outgrew him. Sold him for 20 times what I paid for him, and that was cheap for a pony like him. He's somewhere in the NF now.

This chap turned out to be a bargain - but he was a big gamble at the time.

Jester was a very promising eventer (by Odysseus) until sarcoids got in the way. I first saw him at a friend's livery yard just before he went to Liverpool (and I asked why they were wasting diesel as I though he was beyond hope!!) The complete inner surfaces of BOTH hind legs were covered in ulcerated, oozing sarcoids - he scratched them with the opposite foot - he was a mess!! Even the great DK wanted to put him down - but the Insurance Company said no so he was treated 'experimentally' with an immuno-suppressant drug which knocked out his immune system.

He came home and the sarcoids cleared rapidly - but owner needed to sell him for personal reasons - but didn't want to risk him being pushed from pillar to post so I bought him VERY cheaply (£500 for the horse plus 3 brand new top quality turnout rugs). He had previously been insured for £7,000 which was his realistic value before the sarcoids.

He's beeen our huntsman's number 1 horse for 6 years and is STILL completely sarcoid free. There IS life after sarcoids - thanks to the one and only Derek Knottenbelt (I BET I spelt that wrong again!)
