I have been messing around for the last 2months or so with hempfling ideas and have got it so I can lead him on a neck rope which is very good but the only prob is that to continue I need to set up a picadero and there is just to much grass in my arena to do any free schooling ....
So I have decided to ride him and stop with hempfling plus I need to start to build up some muscle on him
a kind of pointless post but I need to know that I am doing the right thing ?????

Looks a bit too Parelli like to interest me.
I appreciate the need for ground work but I don't see it as a riding replacement.

Get on and ride is what I would do ... assuming horse is of an age to be ridden that is

Find a classical riding instructor along the lines of Phillippe Karl/those lot, they can give more advice on inhand work and ridden work (in hand work can make a HUGE difference to riding if done correctly) Whereabouts are you?

I'm trying, bless my horses, some in hand work to compliment riding. Much more difficult for me. But I use side reins and a bridle. Note, side reins are not for bending her neck to her chest. I'm liking it.
