Roo has a diagnosis of false ringbone in her front leg but came sound pretty quickly after her diagnosis and has been sound on it for several months and in full work. We had a lesson on wednesday where she was really good and then dressage today where she was an absolute cowbag to ride. We stopped and trotted her up and she looked fine but when trotted in a very small circle she's pretty lame on the leg with ringbone in it - obviously she's done something to flair up the inflammation there. I suspect galloping around in the thunderstorm last night is to blame.
My question is will she be better with box rest for a few days or turned out and rested for a few days? i've given her some bute tonight and she'll get no-bute for another few days until she's more comfortable regardless of whether she's in or out.
