Ringbone

Good morning everyone,
My horse has been diagnosed with ringbone and I would appreciate any advice/ Knowledge people might have regarding same please? He is a twelve year old 16.1 all-rounder and we generally Potter ourselves, not much work this year due to the dreaded Covid.

My old horse had ringbone, but he was in his 20's when he was diagnosed. I retired him at that point, and his condition was managed with Bute initially, then devil's claw. He also wore magnetic hoof boots overnight which did help a little.

It may be worth posting your question again in the tack room or veterinary and hoof care sections - you will probably get a better response. ?

My old mare supposedly has ringbone but after 10 years it hasn't done anything and she still jumps etc ?‍

I know my old lad had low ringbone. Arthrodesis was mentioned by my vet before his full diagnosis, and if my memory serves me correctly, it was only possible with high ringbone. Sorry @ycbm - I know you didn't ask me - thought it might help the OP. ?
