Hi
Just wondering if anyone can help me.
Horse on our yard has what appears to be ringworm. By working back where she has been, the owner thinks it may have picked it up about 5/6 weeks ago but only noticed the patches 3 weeks ago.
It has been treated for those 3 weeks with Imaverol, the patches don't seem to be spreading any more and have gone black and scaley round the edges but still look a little sore in the middle - horse is washed in Hibiscrub on vet's instructions and after washing the middle of the patches appear to have pinpricks of blood in them.
Is this a normal timescale? Will the horse be past the infectious stage? As most of the patches are in the saddle/girth area does the fur have to be completely regrown before the horse can be ridden again?
Thanks for any help.
