Hi all
My horse had ringworm about 5 weeks ago. The effected area is now flaky and grey and I've been told it's dead. Anyone with experience know when it's healed?

I want to move him out to a field by himself but I'm a bit dubious incase it is picked up on a fence. Thanks

Mine had it terribly when he was 4, he was plastered from his ears to his tail. I think that once they have had they get an immunity to it, I haven't heard of one getting it again (although I might be wrong).

Just turn him out, the sunshine will help heal. Oddly enough, although the vet gave me all sorts of lotions and potions and medicine I found the ones I had missed and not treated healed up fastest (although obviously he had had the medicine). There was no evidence that he had had it, his coat grew out 100%.

I gave mine a course from Global Herbs because he was a bit off colour, which I am told will happen if it is a bad infection. I thought he had got it from one of the cattle by licking them over the fence, but in fact I think was from his little new companion pony that had been bought from a market and I found later to have one lesion under his chin and that was all.
