Bit of a pointless post really as I dont know 100% but:

I've just been to the pharmacy as I can't get a docs appointment until Monday! I've come out in a really peculiar rash, the pharmacist thinks this could be ringworm.

I've read horses can suffer from ringworm and ringworm can be passed from horses to people, is it possible to pass ringworm from people to horses?

Yes! Definately!

We had a ringworm outbreak at the yard and vets said we must be VERY careful as it can be passed from horses to humans.

Yes, you can get it from horses but you can just as easily pick it up from being in contact with a surface/door handle etc with it on. Apparently loads of people carry it but dont show any symptoms.

I had it last Sept, I had not been in contact with any horses with ringworm and was mortified when the GP diagnosed it! I was slightly stressed at the time and the GP thought that my immunity was a bit lower.

I was prescribed lamisol for it, but to be honest I think the virus ran its course anyway. I just had 2 round (quite large) marks on my torso, it did not itch or anything. It took about 10 weeks to go completely but was less visible after about 4 weeks.

I came up with a funny rash. Luckily I had my suspicions and managed to get an appointment with the doc - yep, I was right -shingles.

Cheers guys!

Was just a bit worried as I came up with one mark last week and didn't do anything about it, didnt itch, look sore etc!

Got out of the bath yesterday and went oh my gosh, got ten of the things over my ribs and round to my back!

None of the horses have any signs so I'm pretty sure it hasn't come from any of them! Was just concerned they might now have got it from me!

Pharmacist has given me some Canestan and got a docs appointment Mon am, just wanted to see if it was best to avoid the beasties over the weekend!
