Hmmm has anyone any experience of ringworm on their finger before?

I have a very sore patch that looked like a blister with dark spots underneath and it is slowly spreading over my thumb.
I'm treating it with anti-fungal cream at the mo.
I think it is ringworm, but not 100%sure.

Does anyone know how long it takes to go away? Also what is the risk of me spreading it to dogs/ cats/ horses/ rabbits/ snakes?

Thanks in advance!

Any time I have had ringworm, it has been large red raised circles with itched like nothing normal - doesn't sound like what you have!
The doctor gave me hydrocortizone, but what worked best for me was my dad's (farmer's

) method of two parts white spirit to one part creosote. It smells and stains the skin but it worked for me.

If it is ringworm, it is very contagious so be careful, you can spread it to other parts of the body and to other people or animals via touch, I spread it from my leg to my arm by touching one, then the other.

My horses got it a couple of years ago from a new horse that came onto the yard. It is really contagious so i had to keep them well sectioned off from any other horses, i also disinfected everything when they finally got rid of it and used one of those hospital gel things which i left outside their paddock so that i didn't touch anything after them!

I didn't get it myself luckily and managed not to give it to any other animals. It took about 8 weeks for it to go completely and i used malaseb wash and the vet gave me something to put in their feed. Sorry hope this helps a bit?

p.s. wow you have snakes!

A blister with dark spots underneath?
Doesn't entirely sound like ringworm? I had it over the top part of my chest and was round scaley like patches - exactly like it appears on a horse really...

you might want to chat to your doctor - Have you had a horse which has had it?

No I don't know any horses that have it BUT i'm often on two large yards one with over 100 horses and one with 30 odd. So it would not suprise me if I had caught it off something without realising.

As for is it ringworm.... i'm not sure! the blisters spread and i have pulled the skin off the top and it just reheals with shiny skin. But it still looks swollen and is sore, not quite right! I can't think of anything else it could be ? Will goto the doctors if it has cleared up next week
