She was a heroine of my childhood, along with her unforgettable partner Merely-a-Monarch.

Oh crikey, yes she was one of my child and teen hood heroines, the same age as my late mother.
She was still jumping in SA only 5 years ago!

That's sad. As above, a heroine as a rider and her wonderful horse Merely-a-Monarch that won nearly everything he was entered in.

I was so happy for her when I saw that she was still riding

So very sorry to read this, I remember her way back in the early 60's she was a remarkable horsewoman and still riding in her latter years. RIP Anneli.

She along with Pat Smythe, Marion Mould and Lucinda PP were the heroines of my pony-mad childhood. Yep am showing my age here.

Merely-a-Monarch and Anneli were such a wonderful partnership and such an inspiration to us young'uns. Just sheer legends.

What a huge loss to the equine world. Feeling very sad.
