Whilest hacking down to ride out with me yesterday my friend and her horse where involved in a car accident, resulting in her horse being put to sleep on the scene.

The car collided with the horse after skidding on the road (going to fast) breaking barts right fore leg in several places.

What a waste of an young, sweet horse with so much potential just because of the need of some people to speed down narrow country lanes.

My friend as you may imagen is absolutly devested from her loss. From my knowlege she spent the night in A&E but is fine just completely heartbroken.

So I conclude
RIP Bart

There seems to be so many stories of horses involved in road accidents, it is frightening as we all have to do some roadwork, and all it takes is 1 stupid driver.
A big ((hug)) for your friend, he was a beautiful horse she must be devastated.

That is so sad. Bart was a stunning horse. Your friend must be devastated.

(((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))) for you and your friend.

RIP Bartxxxxxxxxxx

Poor girl and poor Bart.

I hope they throw the book at the driver, that the car was a write off and they can't afford another - oh, and that they leant some sort of lesson.

RIP beautiful boy and some healing <<<<<vibes>>>>> to your friend.

Makes me so upset and angry reading these sorts of things. Why oh why can't drivers just slow down that little bit more - what is the rush? Had the driver been going say maybe 10 mph less then maybe this would have never happened.

My feelings go out to your friend, I am not sure how I would cope in the same situation so I hope she has the strength to go on and doesn't let it put her off. I have to say I do feel a lot more nervous these days hacking out than I ever used to. Something needs to be done.
