. . . no not the GreyDonkey.

A friend/fellow livery had her beautiful gelding put to sleep this morning. I never want to hear another person howl like that again - not as long as I live.

Nazz was evented by Dan Jocelyn before being bought by Kal's current jockey . . . she evented him herself before passing him on to her sister. He was buzzy, sharp and excitable and very, very beautiful. Her old pony/Nazz' fieldmate called to him once as he was led away . . . and Z said he went peacefully - no fight.

He will leave a huge hole in so many people's lives . . . such a wonderful character.

RIP Nazzabee.

I am so sorry for your friend, bless her. I agree, even when it's not your own, it does get to you. Everytime I read of one on here, it makes me so sad that someone else has lost a friend that meant the world to them, as I know how they feel.

RIP beautiful lad, gallop free x (((hugs))) for your friend

Sorry to read this. Never nice however much we 'prepare'.

You were right though as TB's foal came on the same day.

It's a year this weekend since my girl left and am feeling rather wobbly.

I'm so sorry :( I was thinking of you all at 8am. While I was putting magazines on the shelf, several people were having one of the worst days of their lives...something about that made me feel very strange :( *hugs* R.I.P Nazz

The part of owning that I hate is the having to say goodbye, no matter how many times we go through it, it never gets any easier. :(

The saving grace is that we can give them a dignified end with no fear, pain or suffering, and for that I am grateful.

Thank you all very much . . . it means more than you know that my HHO family was thinking of Nazz's owners today. I am very fond of his family/owners . . . and I was very fond of Nazz, but my tears/grief are nothing compared with J's . . . you all helped me support her today.
