Oh no. So Sad. I have got all of his books and read them again and again. He was such a lovely man. What will I get for Christmas every year now?

Oh no! I'd just heard about Gribaldi too (which is very sad) , then this. Dear, dear Dick Francis who has given me SO many wonderful hours with my nose in one or other of his books. Agree - what on earth will we do now there will be no more....?
RIP dear friend......a legend forever.. condolences to the Francis family..

So sad to read this, he was a lovely kind man to talk to and I'm so sorry for his family, he'll leave a great void in their lives.

RIP Dick and thank you for the pleasure and memories you've given everyone over the years. God bless.

Another one here who always bought the latest Dick Francis book as a Christmas present for my sister - she has a collection of first editions all signed by him. Now who shall I buy instead - anyone tried Jenny Pitmans books?

What a fun life he led!

I'll never forget sitting on his knee at the races as a child. I was too young to know who he was then, but I realised he was someone very special (with a huge

too!) and then I grew up digesting each page of his books. RIP Dick.

JP and JF can't hold a candle to Dick Francis - a very sad piece of news indeed. Another book due out soon - I shall savour the pages and reflect on how much enjoyment he has given me since I first discovered his talent as a writer.

Rest in Peace and thank you.
