I haven't posted on here for months. But unfortunately i had to have my mare put down on Wednesday, due to a severe heart murmur and an accumalation of problems and the vet not previously picking up on it but I won't go into too much detail! This has left my boy on his own, he seems really down at the moment but that is to be expected. The only thing is I'm worried about him being lonely. He is on my own stables with horses in the field next to him. Also my land is water logged already and I don't think I can support another horse on there until I sort out drainage. Anyone got any experience of a horse passing and leaving a pal?

Sorry to hear about your girl :(
We haven't had one left on her own, but we did have two who had been together for 20 years. The eldest of them was left when we had to have her 24 year old friend pts. She was with two others, but was obviosuly sad and missing her best friend. I don't think she would have coped at all on her own. She got a new lease of life when we bought another Appy and she had a new best friend.

No advice, but I'm so sorry for your loss, tell us your happy memories when you are ready, we'd all love to hear them, I'm sure x
