It is almost a year since our much loved pony was killed after she was sent to an abbatoir in Wales without our knowledge , whilst out on loan to a woman in Telford. Despite efforts from many individuals and the wonderful people from Missing Horses on Loan, the police have still not taken any action. Athough I cannot bring Libby back now I am continuing to urge all owners who put their beloved animals out on loan to have their agreement signed in the presence of a solicitor- I have been told that without this the agreement is worthless. I made the mistake of trusting the person who loaned Libby and thought that signing to say that she would always belong to us was enough ... but have been proved horribly wrong.
I hope her death and the circumstances surrounding it might prove a warning to other people and I hope that the person who sent her might have some pang of remorse this weekend for their actions.

RIP Libby. How absolutely tragic. What sort of person, calling themselves a horse lover would be able to take another person's horse and tell them they are going to care for him/her and then do this, yet it is happening all the more now.

Thanks for your message and have now informed Tracing Equines. What has amazed me in this terrible business is that I have received no communication at all from the passport office during this time even though Libby's passport was given to the abattoir and my name was still the registered owner. I spoke to the office after I had found out about her death and had expected the passport to be returned- have I got this wrong ? If I had not been told about tracing Libby via the NED website I might never have found out what happened to her...surely there is something wrong with the system somewhere ??
