Was debating whether to post this, but i am sat on my own in an empty house bawling my eyes out and i just feel i need to talk to someone...anyone.
Today my beautiful dog Henry was pts at 10.44 this morning at the grand age of 15. He became ill on Monday and had just gone down hill from there. Last night he was just laying there, the spark in his eyes had gone and i knew he had had enough. I spent the night with him and we chatted about all the good times.
I can't remember a time without Henry, i was 3 and a half when we got him, my earliest memory is from the first night we had him. He was crying downstairs so my brother and i brought our duvets down and slept with him. Mum and Dad were not to impressed! Other memories are just random snipets. Me not wanting to eat all my dinner and no sneaking some under the table to him, or the time he got out and chased the car down the road.
When i was 6 my world fell apart. Mum and Dad were getting a divorce. I remember sitting in the car watching my parents outside yelling at each other. I was crying but Henry was there right beside me, he licked my face and his tongue went in my mouth...disgusting dog!
He always looked after me, i refer to him as being my big brother. When i was 7 we went on a camping trip to Wales, and climbed Mt Snowdon. My older brother and i went off ahead of mum, Henry following. Though every now and then he would disapear off. When mum finally caught up with us she said that Henry was doing the same to her, following for a little while and the disapearing. He must have been going between mum and us, making sure everyone was okay.
I've got so many good memories of us together, i could go on forever.
I miss you so much babes, but i could see in your eyes that it was time to say goodbye.
Thank you for being threre for me, and the great times we had.
Ill miss how you used to howl every time the phone went off. Yourl always be my favourite ringtone!
Ill miss the way you would do a sea lion impresion everytime i got home from work, and make me trip over you.
I'll miss the way you would rest your head on my lap, and look lovingly in to my eyes whenever i had food.
I'll miss having our wednesday fry up on my day off.
The house is so empty without you, so quiet. I pray that you are with granddad now, keeping him company and scrounching off him no doubt.
Please keep watching over me, big bro. I will never ever forget you. One day we will meet again, i promise. I love you so much. xxxxx
Thanks for reading guys, lots of wine and chocolate for those who made it this far. Please join me in a toast to the best dog ever.
RIP MY BEAUTIFUL BOY
