Rodger was about 23 years old, had kissing spines and arthritis. He was my sister in laws horse (But I looked after him everyday) and she had him from about 7 years old, he was retierd at 10 with KS and has lived out in at her mums yard ever since. He has been getting stiffer by the day and on Sat 14/08/2010 he was so lame he couldn't walk out of the field for his feed, so the disision was made then not to wait till the end of summer as was planed, but to do it then. He was also quite thin even tho he lived out 24/7 on grass and was getting fed twice a day.:(

My horse hasn't really noticed so thats good, but I was way at the time so I never got to say bye, and give him a kiss. I have been told it was quick (the huntsman came) and they did a very good job. In away I'm glad I wasn't there as I would of been rubbish to have around.

Rodger the big ginger beast, pics from last year as I don't have any others on work comp.

Miss you loads, big man XxX (17.2HH)

Thanks guys, makes you feel a little better knowing others care. I really wish I could of given him a big hug, but I was miles away. (I hope he doesn't hold it aganst me, I know that sounds dafft but thats how it feels.)

of course he doesn't, he'll have totally understood.... animals are pretty telepathic. sometimes it's better for them to go with the minimum of distress. He'll be watching over your gorgeous pony. sm xx
