Wairly was a racehorse owned by David Quigley, the Irish show jumper, and his Dad and was trained by Kim Bailey. I read the Quigley's blog ( http://www.qsporthorses.com/news.asp ) - Kim Bailey's got one too ( http://www.kimbaileyracing.com/Baileys_blog.html) , and the Quigley's have been eagerly awaiting Wairly's first run of the season. A couple of times they've had to withdraw her from races, but things were looking hopeful for a run soon... and then sadly Wairly broke her leg in training this morning. I just feel so sorry for the Quigley's, and of course for Wairly.

Many condolences to all her connections. They must be distraught. Accidents can happen anywhere, but just hope the vets got to her quickly.

How awful, I think that owning a racehorse must be pretty heartbreaking for most owners, but to only see your horse run once after many months, if not years of hard work/money/time must be absolutely devestating :-(
