I am usually a lurker, adding my bit when I think I can help.
BUT.
My darling Pippa was PTS on Tuesday 26th January 2010. Those of you who have lost beloved pets can appreciate the pain and tears this has caused. She had cancer and has been in a gradual decline for 18 months. Even though she was very thin with a huge growth in her stomach she still enjoyed life and played in the snow like a puppy. She still enjoyed her walks, her food, her cuddles. Then like the stubborn dog she always was she tried to jump into the car instead of being lifted as per normal. My husband just caught her before she hit the concrete after falling backwards, but the shock knocked her for six. She suddenly became fragile and was in obivous pain. She kept coming upto me as if to say, take the pain away mum. So we did. Having to make the heartbreaking decision to have her gently PTS was the hardest decision we have ever made. She was 13 years old and was such a large part of our lives. Even though we have two other dogs (daughter and grandson) I feel her loss tremendously. I hope to eventually talk about her without crying. I felt I had to post on here as I wanted the world to know of our loss. I look forward to meeting up with her again for more adventures over the rainbow bridge.
