I fed my field horses haylage over the winter and it worked really well and have a fair few left. A couple of the bales got puntured but the haylage looks ok - just seems to have dried out! it seems to smell ok!

Should i throw it away?

Or open it up and feed any of it to the horses?

What should i look out for?

Check for any heat in the haylage and any white fungus growth. If it's off it has a really strong fermenting smell. If it's just dried out then you can feed it with no risk.
