Rising or sitting... Which do u do more

I've always used rising trot as my default - even in my higher trained horses-- I personally feel it helps the horse swing thru their back better- but I also have had a lot of 'backward' thinking horses... Now I (finally) have a naturally forward going horse I'm sitting more and more ... As I feel I have (slightly) more control... What do u do?

Rising. Like you I've found that it frees their back up more to swing through and really move with impulsion. If G is rushing his transitions I sometimes do a few strides of sitting either side of them to balance him first but I don't do it the whole time.

Rising. I like sitting trot, but I think rising is easier on the Dizz's wonky bits.

I only really sit at competitions as Rio turns into a bit of a drama queen and it gives me a little bit more control... or if hes spooking

I automatically rise on everything, but I do have one I ride a lot at work who I just find easier to keep working well if I'm sitting. It's getting better as he's improving though so hoping to be able to get him to work consistently with me rising too, now it's good but if it falls apart I have to go sitting to rescue it. Instructor can't rise on him either when she got on to see what I meant, it's quite bizarre.

sitting trot more comfortable specially on WS on horse who does WR. You cant do rising easily not without damaging yourself lol.

sitting on the ponies but that's because A, i ride mainly bareback and B, their stride is so short and choppy i can't rise to their trots.
i do rising trot on my horse though as it's more comfortable and he moves better.
