Roach Back what problems could it give you?

Hi daughter looked at horse with view to jump BSJA.Horse 4 yrs old showed roach back in vetting.Question is vet says will look better when more muscled up but will not really change. Seller says will young horse so will change.Are there any problems associated with roach backs?Don't think we are going ahead with it just out of unterest.

I don't know about the medical problems but I did have a horse with a roach back on loan for a while - canter was not very comfortable

Horses with roach backs can usually jump very well, can sometimes buck really well too. Never known any problems from them and would pick a roach back over a 'correct' back any day.

The most fantastic horse I've ever jumped has the worst roach back you'll ever see. He's jumping 1.35/1.40 YR tracks and he's only dinky (15.2)

got two TB's with them and they both jump like stags and seem fine, one even passed a five stage vetting with his last week
