hi, there has been a sign put up today about a diversion on the road leading to yard. surely if u have a obligation to be on the road to see your horse u cna get through? x
When is the road closure date? It should be on the sign- The sign will also tell you who is going the work . IF it is after this weekend then you should ring your District/Borough or County Council- they will be able to give you more details.
Sometimes when Road Closures signs go up it is because there is going to be a full road closure- however- there will be some form of access for you to get through- you may have to stop and explain to the workmen that you need access for horses etc.
Sometimes Full Road Closure signs go up because there is going to be a fair amount of work and (always expecting worse case scenario) something will happen that was not expected and road would need to be completely closed.
This happened a few years ago outside my yard - we had to argue like mad with the workmen. (After a good 10 mins of polite requests and explanations!) They really were not going to let us through. I parked my car in their way and started walking - then suddenly it was ok to drive through I think we just had a particularly grumpy lot though!
