I have been told by someone at my yard that they think my horse may be a roarer/ whistler. From the research i have done i don't think she is. She doesn't cough or tire easily and i can't even hear a whistle! She does snort alot during canter a can sometimes sound a little wheezie - could that be a sign?

If she makes a noise when she is exercised she is a roarer. There are different degrees to this and sometimes it doesn't affect performance (if it is only mild). The most likely cause is either partial or complete paralysis of the left side of the larynx, but in order to diagnose you would need to have an endoscopy done on her.

mine makes the most dodgy sound when playing in the field - funny type of snort. When shes exercised she makes a slight noise when cantering or galloping - like whistling and she has been classed as a whistler but I thought shes more of a roarer. She hasnt been scoped or anything like that as it doesnt bother me. She doesnt tire easily or cough either.
