Sorry its late i've only just got in!
Well, we're not very much clearer yet about whats going on, will have to wait til end of the week for the results of the lung wash/swabs to come back.
But today i went to get rock in from the field and he was very bad again
vet came out to do the endoscopy and lung wash - blimey was that an awful experience
he said that structurally nothing wrong with his wind pipe or lungs (phew) but that the samples he took were abnormally cloudy and that he did see some puss in his lungs and larynx.
Best case scenario is its a respiratory infection that is treated by antibiotics.
Other scenario is it is COPD or similar - but we will find out one way or another when the results come back and then can at least start treating it properly rather than random shots in the dark as to how to treat it.
Rock came round from the sedative very well, had a wash down as sweated so much, and i left him looking very perky and almost back to normal. Went back to check him at 8 30 and he was back to his old self, perky and happy and very glad of the carrot i had produced for him!
I'm moving to a new yard tommorow which has 24 7 turn out and is a very breezy place on the top of the hill and i have to say the air felt much 'cleaner' there. At the place i am now its very stuffy pollen filled air, but this place seemed very fresh and was a lovely pleasent yard, i think rock will get on well there.
So thats the update - please all wish Rocky the BEST of luck and huge healing vibes and wish us all luck with the move tommorow and that the results come back one way or another with something we can work on!
also thank you for all the pm's yesterday, was much appreciated i was in a real state so thank you
xxxx
