I used the single joint one on a youngster who didnt like the movement of a myler snaffle. I emailed Tom Biddlecom whom I brought it from first and he was very helpful. Just a pity not dressage legal.
Hmm, thank you for that. Mine is a spotty too - thick tongue, pink lips who is in a Myler at the moment. Goes better in that then single jointed, but still not brill. Will email Tom Widdecome and see what he says.
I use the ported one, its the only bit i've been able to get my TB to settle in, he's a funny one to bit, after recommendation I tried him in a neue schule verbidend - he refused to move till I took it off! LOL
He loves the rockin s, without a port he faffs with his mouth but he leans on a straight bar so this is perfect and he really seems to like the fixed sides.
What would you say it was like brake wise? Mostly mine is quite good for stopping, when he isn't keen on stopping he lifts his head right up as high as possible. His main thing is rooting of the bit, snatching the reins out of my hands, even when on a fairly loose rein.
I don't really have any problem with the brakes but then he's pretty good in that respect, I find that I can use my hands more lightly because he's happier in his mouth, he leaned more on the bits he didn't like.
Just a little update - we are really liking the Rockin S Raised Snaffle, he doesn't seem to fight it like he did the Myler, and are now progressing to small soft steps of back up with it which was an absolute impossibility with the others we have tried.
