Having a horse with high Ringbone, Navicular, DJD and sidebones myself I couldn't just read and run!
My mare is newly(ish) barefoot, vet wanted her in remedials but I declined
She does everything as before (minus jumping) and she is only on glucosamine for her joints. She was diagnosed in January last year and had joint injections and up unitl xmas she was on bute, first whole sachets and then down to half a sachet per day (until I realised it was more for my benefit than hers
) She went for her follow up in September last year and the vet was gob smacked at her progress. As we still had some insurance money and she was an ideal candidate she was medicated with Tildren which has been a god send!
She is worked 40 minutes hacking most days on all types of ground and also does a bit of dressage here and there! I have just bought some hoof boots and I am wondering why I didn't buy them sooner as they are fantastic! I also rehabbed myself with no problems, the first horse I have ever barefoot rehabbed!
She is also 100% sound and has been for a while now!!
If you OP, or anybody else wants to speak to me about my horses journey then please feel free to PM me!
