Haven't been on here much recently due to moving house so we didnt have any internet for a while - killer! Anyway, we love the new place. Rocky is just down the road so my morning routine consists of a 6am wake up, dragging myself down to the yard whilst still half asleep on my bike, to go and see Rocky. Quite different to my usual 8am wake up , but even though im not a good morning person, getting up to see Rocks at 6 isnt too bad
Our plans were to not do much over the next 3 months whilst i finish my exams (also because we cant afford to!), however ive been doing a bit of work for Austin and Kathrin O'connor and with the money I decided to enter Rocky into a ODE at the begining of May, and also trundle off schooling today! It was just far too tempting - i'm missing eventing far too much!
Anyway, Rocky was a very good boy today. We had a couple of little hiccups - the first being a gravel bridge crossing - apparently there was a troll hiding underneath it, however he soon saw sense and realised that the troll was clearly sleeping, and after a smack on the bum he said "ok mum" (no fence involved i hasten to add, and it was compeltely flat!). The second and final hiccup was at a ditch which is pictured towards the end... it was along the same gully as the gravel crossing, and that too was very scary, however after a smack up the bum and lots of verbal encouragement, he leapt across it no problem at all. I was actually quite pleased because he used to have a massive step and ditch issue (jumped loads of steps really well today - no issues at all ) and today when i said go forward, he did and we didnt have any of this silly napping which he used to do, so all in all a very good day!
Here are some pictures...
Sorry for the massive picture overload!
