Well, just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of Rocky being very brave and venturing on his first proper hack without someone walking beside him. He did really well and we even had our first ever trot with me on board!
Considering we don't have any schooling facilities and essentially I have only managed to sit on him once every other week I am very pleased with my (not so little anymore) 3 yo!

Will be looking forward to some competitions next year! :)

Anyway, just a couple of pics - he's the coloured (my mum was basically stalking us in her car!!)

So grown up, even standing for some pics!

And yes he is rather dirty as he lives out 24/7 and seems to love the mud!!! :)
I definitely need to learn to smile for the camera though! ha ha

He looks wonderful and very happy to be out hacking like a big boy! Beautiful looking horse as well, what are your plans for him?

Oh, he's lovely. And being such a good boy standing for the photos too. My 5 year old is still a fidget-pants if asked to stand for more than 45 seconds! :)

Thanks! He seems to just like going out. He can even now let me get on him from our gate. It was only about a 20 min hack and I can't yet ride him down the steep hill back to our stables as it is quite unbalancing for him. he was pretty shattered on the way back though. It does take them out of them all thsi brain work!

My aim (well, we'll see how we go) is to pop him in the young event horse at Bramham next year but that's a whole long way off yet and I have to se if he takes to jumping by then! He is a lot less hairy in the springh and, although you can't really see it therehe's quite athletic in his build!

On from that just see how he goes - ideally want to showjump and do (low level) eventing. All in all, a bit of everything and anything!! :)

Sounds great - looking forward to the updates! He certainly looks athletic, and like he has a bit more growing to do as well?
