Yippee! It was really nice. He went suprisingly well - a little uneven but we only had one spook. That was at Fred the pigeon who insisted on flying between the hedge and the school fence! He threatened to buck a few times but I think he was enjoying it just as much. Instead of bucking he just twisted around madly underneath me.

After 4 weeks I am pretty impressed - though a little disconcerting he had started to sweat after about 45 minutes work and he didn't want to canter either - but I think that is because he's out of practice. And, even better, that shiny thing in the sky was out while we rode! But we still couldn't persaude YO to turn out - she says its still to wet.

yeah, i too have had the first ride in 5 weeks due to the snow. They were looking for excuses to start but didnt really do anything,. Bizzarre, they have been out in snow, but snow/ice at the sides of the road were a good excuse to spook!

I cant ride mine at the moment but just got a call from annother livery asking me to ride her mare im so excited i havnt ridden in about 5 months.

Only problem is the mare hasnt been ridden since the summer so could be in for an interesting time. Still SO excited though

Wasn't it lovely to be out?! Went around the lanes as the bridleways are very slippery, and just enjoyed a relaxed hack, mostly walking as it was not cold and nice to have the sun on his back. Leftover heaps of snow VERY spooky though!
