Anyone heard of these makes of bits?
I have a bit I borrowed from work and it has either rofin or rufin on the rings, its worn so I can't tell if its O or U.
I want to know what type of metal the bit is as its a yellowie colour.
It also says made in England and never rust of it.

I recently acquired several of these bits (various styles). The metal is German Silver or otherwise known as Nickel Silver. It is a common metal used many years ago that does not rust. Not as easy to clean as Stainless Steel but I will take no rust any day!

The brand name is Rofin, but I cannot find any more information about them anywhere on the internet. I came across your post because I have been trying to do research. This company made lots of driving type bits and some very strange looking ones I might add.

If you come across any information about the Manufacturer could you please let me know. Thanks!
