Ok, for a piece of GCSE PE Coursework I have to outline the roles of officials in horse sports today, however I'm a bit stuck, because if you think about how many different offcials there are and all there different roles, anyone got any idea how I can briefly outline them and their roles?

How about starting at the top and working down. What about looking at an old programme or schedule for Burghley or Badminton.

Well, what do you need to know for each? Who the person answers to, what her responsibilities are, who answers to her?

You could draw some sort of tree diagram...

Horse racing would be a good one with the raceday stewards, veterinary officers, clerk of the course, judge (for photo finishes etc), racecourse stable security etc. If you look on the British Horseracing Authority's website (britishhorseracing.com) and their careers site (careersinracing.com) you should find to help you.

I'd pick a particular horse sport to concentrate on.

Racing should be pretty well defined or if you look on the BE website, there are descriptions of the main officials.

If you need details of the others, PM me.
