Rolled or flat leather bridle

I'd like a second bridle for my flat work as I only own one & find my boy works well in a loose ring snaffle of the flat but jumping & out hacking I haven't had the same control as with my full cheek bit
So I've been changing them over. I sound lazy but it's a pain when I'm in a rush after work so going to treat myself to a flat work bridle for my birthday.
I think rolled leather looks lush, are there any downsides to rolled leather? Discomfort etc?

My old pony always loved his rolled leather, the fitting was fab! Although I did know a lady who's horse couldn't stand it. Different horse I guess!!

Rolled leather never looks very comfortable to me, particularly the ones with buckles high up over the poll. I would go for a nice plain flat leather every time, but I do like simplicity!
