Have only previously had regular spurs. Have got some roller ball ones for Xmas and only just got round to getting some oil to oil the straps. (Don't worry got instructors advice before getting them)

I'm trying to set them up ready for my next lesson but can't seem to figure out which way up they go or doesn't it matter. Know normal spurs the spur bit points down but these don't seem to so can they go either way? Obviously it's a different design to accommodate the roller so doesn't seem to have a clear angle.

They are Mark Todd ones.

There is no "up" or "down" with these type of spurs, they are more like straight dressage spurs than the hunting type.

Thank you! Did think it was like that but didn't want to get them all set up then there actually be some secret angle or anything.

Sure I'll have to adjust the slack etc once I've got boots on but at least I know there's no set way up :)

Ditto Cortez, although my Mark Todd ones have the brand name on so I make sure that's the right way up!

I'm sure Sir Mark would appreciate that!

I'm sure he also appreciates the 'Mark Todd' patent leather spur straps with diamante that I got to go with them. Somehow I doubt Sir Mark would be seen dead in such an item!!
