Hi and yes I'm absolutely gutted - secretly I hoped to talk my other half into letting me keep Caspar as he was my dream horse in looks and temperament, so chilled out and friendly, and that beautiful colour too.
He's been left with his mother over night at the vet and when I spoke to vet this morn Phantom was standing over her boy...I just hope she accepts it and doesn't pine too much
Horrible decision to make and now I find I lost a bit of enthisiasm for the upcoming births
Thats brought tears to my eyes.
I hope she can accept what has happened and that you all can enjoy the other forthcoming births whilst still remembering Caspar.
RIP little one.
i couldn't believe it,i always log onto you first thing every morning to see the latest foals/births and as i am really looking forward to your dun mare i went on as usual this morning.
i am so sorry for you as well as being a stunning colour casper looked like he had the makings of a wonderful horse.
i hope you will look forward to your next few births,as you can see by the amount that log onto your web cam most on us do.
huge hugs to you
I went through the exact same thing last month. My mare seemed to accept the situation and settle once she was home and out with her friends. I hope Phantom is the same.
I have to say that we all rather feel they are 'our' foalies too when we have seen them born
but of course you must be really upset about losing him. I can really understand you losing the enthusiasm for the next few births but hopefully they will inspire you again.
I really hop that they can find a new foal for Phantom. My heart aches for her.
