I've just bought one for my pony - as she had laminitis last year. Has anyone used them? Any feedback? Am I right in understanding you need about an inch gap in the muzzle.

Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks.

I think these things just look mean!

I know - but I think allowing a pony to get laminitis is worse.

What I really hoped for was feedback from people who have used one.

We use the Shires one on our pony - it does the job and is a darn sight better than having her in all the time and fed up. She has worked out how to eat whilst wearing it and until someone comes up with a better idea, she'll continue to wear it.

I used the shires one last year with some success. I assume the roma one is the same design?

I found a big flaw with them though. When you buy a muzzle with a hole the bottom is the same size wether you buy a miniature size muzzle or a full size muzzle. But a small pony require much less grass than a big horse. Therefore a small pony will still get too much grass with one of these muzzles.

I am currently using the greenguard muzzle. Last pony broke his but I bought the new design for new pony so will see how it goes.

Let us know how you get on with the Roma one...
