Good evening diary,
Well, mother FINALLY took me hunting today. I wasn't sure at first because she didn't tie my mane in knots, or do the weird thing with my tail, but we did go.
I couldn't work out where we were going for ages because of the fog, and then when I worked out which road we were on I couldn't think where we would be meeting. In the end mum parked up on a funny bit of road with about 6 other people. I thought my friend Sophie was going to be there, but unfortunately not... Star, who came in her wagon says she's got a poorly leg. I told him she was being soft and to bite her, but I think he's too scared of her to do it!
Then mum's friend G turned up, and a new horse got out. G's horse was PTS out hunting in November as he was startled by a pheasant whilst jumping and fell and broke his leg. This new horse seems nice, has a funny irish accent though, and thought we should be going a lot faster than we did!
We then had a bit of a hack to the meet, I don't think I've ever been to a meet there, and I think I heard mum saying she hasn't met there before either. We seemed to have 2 sets of hounds at the meet today, which has to do with some human polimatics or something.... didn't bother me, just noticed that one half were sitting with Cherry and Jemima (the hunt horses) and the others were all running riot!
When we moved off we went down a very steep muddy track, stood about, came back, went down another one, came back up etc etc etc. The highlight of the day was a canter across a boggy field, followed by a scramble over a little wall and up a very steep bank. Not much after that mum and G decided we'd had enough and brought us home. Am quite glad really, the bit of moor they were heading on to is evil, and has great scary holes beside the track! Plus, I just knew that mum was going to want to wash me off. I don't think I've ever been so muddy as I was today!
So, to bed, tired but happy. Big haylage net and carrots for everyone!
